Frank van Brunschot is a qualified cabinetmaker with an honours degree in Visual Arts from the Australian National University (ANU). He specializes in the restoration and conservation of all types of wooden furniture as well as the design and manufacture of hand crafted custom made furniture.

Frank’s approach to restoration emphasizes preservation. This is based in a conservation ethic where processes focus on the responsible retention of the patinations built up over time. These residual marks are imbued with a sense of history and time and are intrinsic to the aesthetic value of a piece.  Treatments employed draw on Frank’s expert understanding of traditional cabinet joinery, marquetry, veneering and hand rubbed French Polishing.

 Frank has extensive experience in custom designing and making high quality bespoke furniture out of select grade solid timber and decorative veneers. This is done in close consultation with clients addressing individual needs and budgets. Traditional cabinet joinery is used in conjunction with contemporary styles drawing eclectic influences from Art Deco, Biedermeier and Modernism.
